Sadly there are real events for Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday celebration. In my moment of weakness I made a flyer for one myself.
Some Famous Mugshots in progress
I working on some submissions for a t-shirt contest, on cracked.com, my usual source of creative inspiration. This contest is for mugshots for mugs of people that are heroes that have negative attributes or have outright criminal/amoral behavior.
So I initially was going to work on Obi Wan Kenobi, but someone already did a Star Wars themed one, then I decided on Doc Brown from Back to the Future. I like the way it’s coming out, here’s a sneak preview and my abandoned Old Ben Kenobi.
Flame ON!!!
So, I was listening to the Nerdpocalypse Podcast and they were discussing somethings about the New Fantastic Four movie starring Michael B. Jordan and Kate Mara. Michael will be portraying the Johnny Storm, Human Torch, brother of Sue Storm, the Invisible Girl/Woman. They got into how the cosmic rays give them their powers and how they manifest in different ways based on personality traits. Sue Storm was adopted by a black family and maybe that’s why she feels withdrawn and shy. Micah a co-host of the podcast jokingly suggests that since Johnny Storm is being played by an African-American, it would be funny if his heat powers manifest because he is a rapper who spits “hot fire.” So I made this, because it amused me.

Scared To Dance
Here’s another attempt at a Novelty Halloween Song, a dance track with a more upbeat tempo. It’s a weird one, about a ghost girl that wants to dance with a laid back fella, for some reason.
Lyrics
She said it’s not a costume
And grabbed my by the hands
She Asked if I was afraid of monsters
Or was I just Scared 2 Dance
She wanted me to dance on her grave
That’s why she came to this masquerade
It would put her spirit to rest
If I could stand up to the test
This ghostly girl who shot me a glance
Taught me not to be Scared 2 Dance
She said it’s not a costume
And grabbed my by the hands
She Asked if I was afraid of monsters
Or was I just Scared 2 Dance
She said it’s not a costume
And grabbed my by the hands
She Asked if I was afraid of monsters
Or was I just Scared 2 Dance
She visited from another plane
And didn’t want to tell me her name
She only wanted to dance with me
The only way she could be set free
So what’s a little dirt on my pants
Now that I’m not too Scared 2 Dance
She taught me not to be Scared 2 Dance
She taught me not to be Scared 2 Dance
And now I am not too Scared 2 Dance
She said it’s not a costume
And grabbed my by the hands
She Asked if I was afraid of monsters
Or was I just Scared 2 Dance

Haunted House Party
So, I’ve been looking at music submission site seeing what themes and concepts people are looking for. I came across one looking for a halloween themed song to replace the great novelty horror song “Monster Mash.” Branching out from hip-hop and my interesting attempts at rock, I’m trying out pure dance/pop music for something that might work for a different demographic. I felt like pipe organs and violins might create a spooky atmosphere and added a chilling glockenspiel that made me think of a cartoon I saw once where a skeleton was using it’s own bones to make a tune. Mashed that all together with heavy autotune sounds because I know my singing voice leaves a lot to be desired, added a rap an made this track, “Haunted House Party.”
Lyrics
Haunted House Party Time
Haunted House Party Time
I’m not afraid, I swear I’m not afraid
Of this haunted House
Ooh! There’s skeletons and spider webs
All throughout
Okay, I wanna leave, oh I wanna leave
But it’s not allowed
I can’t get, they saidI can’t get out
Unless I get down
Haunted House Party Time
Haunted House Party Time
Stepped on the dance floor spotted her across the room
A chick with a pointed hat flying on a broom
Bewitched by her looks, had me under her spell
Dancing on the ceiling, ’til I looked down and fell
Landed on a girl wrapped up like a mummy
Covered except for her face legs and tummy
Help her shake off some dust, shaking that thing
Had fun until she tried to wrap me in a sling
Moved on to a girl with cat ears and tights
She was the baddest girl that I saw all night
We were getting down until I had to bail
‘Cause she got mad that I squeezed on her tail
A cool costume party, masquerade ball
Release your inhibitions, don’t be afraid y’all
Creepers, creatures & monsters galore
Dressed to kill be a beast on the floor
Haunted House Party Time
Haunted House Party Time
I was scared stiff like I had rigor-mortis
Gotta get off the wall like that spooky eyed portrait
Not afraid of ghosts, aliens, bats or zombies
Now that I’m possessed and the rhythm has got me (Oh yeah)
Haunted House Party Time
Haunted House Party Time
Now that I’m possessed and the rhythm has got me (Oh yeah)
Just Desserts
Made this track to submit to a film, fortunately this is cleaner than the one I first submitted. It’s theme is a person getting what was coming to them. Hope you don’t know someone this would apply to.
Lyrics
It’s the cherry on top
It’s the icing on the cake
When you get your Just Desserts
Tell me how does it taste
As bad as it’s getting
You know you deserve worse
You moan and you curse
But you know what you did first
Stealing candy from a baby (baby)
Digging in your mother’s purse
Did a lot of bad things
Now it’s your turn to get it in reverse
It’s the cherry on top
It’s the icing on the cake
When you get your Just Desserts
Tell me how does it taste
Ooh revenge is bitter sweet
When I see you get your Just Deserts
Ooh I hope it’s like a kick in the teeth
When I see you get your Just Deserts
It’s about time you got some humble pie
This is how the cookie crumbles, my oh my
Had a taste of some Sugar Honey Iced Tea
You dished it out long enough, now you’re asking why me?
It’s the cherry on top
It’s the icing on the cake
When you get your Just Desserts
Tell me how does it taste
It’s the cherry on top
It’s the icing on the cake
When you get your Just Desserts
Tell me how does it taste

Explosion (Behind Me)?
For the Action Pact, here’s a song about how the hero walks slowly unflinching from a ginormous explosion.
Lyrics
Was there an explosion behind me
Because I Didn’t notice
I Casually walk away from
Whatever Exploded
Was there an explosion behind me
Because I Didn’t notice
I Casually walk away from
Whatever Exploded
I leave a trail of gasoline behind me
And then I light a match
It doesn’t matter if it’s in a warehouse full of bad guys
That I’m trying to catch
They try to get me, they’ll never get me though
I just walk out the front door real slow
Everything goes boom boom boom
Whenever I leave the room
Was there an explosion behind me
Because I Didn’t notice
I Casually walk away from
Whatever Exploded
Was there an explosion behind me
Because I Didn’t notice
The Action Pact – Logo
Action Pact title graphic for the project. Guess what, you can get a t-shirt. I’s wear it. I’m cool, you can be cool too.
Her or the Job
Still working on the Action Pact, my concept EP that parodies and pays homage to 80s Action Movie Cliches and 80s Rock Music. The latest track is an attempt at a power ballad. I might need to do a bit more research and a few more takes to get it right. I think it’s a good start. The cliche from action films here is the wife/girlfriend of the hero protagonist telling him to choose between her and police work. I think this distills the essence of that theme pretty well.
Lyrics
She wants me to choose
Between her and the job
But I, I don’t want to loose
Either her or the job
When we first met I was just a young cop on the beat
I heard her yelling stop thief who stole her purse on the street
And later that night she asked me to join her for dinner
It was love at first sight I really felt like a winner
But now I’m working late nights, and she always complains
Putting in overtime, she says that nothings the same
She says she needs her man at home, what am I gonna do
Only thing I love more than police work, is coming home to you
Now she wants me to choose
Between her and the job
But I, I don’t want to loose
Either her or the job
She wants me to choose
Between her and the job
But I, I don’t want to loose
Either her or the job
